Record Rains Soak Goshen

Heavy rain and storms that swept through Goshen, have smashed this months records in the Goshen/Adago border region.

Widespread rain in the last 24 hours, with scattered areas of intense downpours, moved through the city and the south coasts resulting in some flash flooding.

The storms and rainfall were a result of a deep low that developed off the Confederacy of Malkuth coast early Monday, which then passed through the eastern states.

Goshen saw the worst of the rain with East Goshen picking up to 10mm in 10 minutes. South East Goshen collected a huge 70mm in 24 hours, making it the largest rainfall in at least 21 years.

Elsewhere, Mt Clarity saw 52mm bringing this month’s total for this year up to 132mm, four times its long term monthly average.

Goshen City also saw the rain gauges filling up quick, as the city recorded up to 10mm in 10 minutes and collected 28mm over the day, the biggest rain for three months. Other areas of Goshen City picked up large amounts too, with Senswood gathering 71mm.

This low has since moved east, leaving just a few showers along the coast and even some sunny breaks this afternoon.
